Big Church
I took Turner with me to "Big" church yesterday. She loved it. She saw several teachers from preschool and other family friends. Then, we took communion together, which was really special. We even kneeled at the altar and prayed a forgiveness prayer together. It was amazing how much she tuned into, including that the Bible verse was from the book of "Micah," which happens to be our Godson's name!
Anyway, after church and many vigorous waves and points to people during the service, she looked at me and said, "MOM! I LOVE big church. Can we go together every week? I knew EVERYONE. And they even had a SNACK!" :)
What a gift to see the worship of our Almighty God through the eyes of a five year old who GETS IT. The church is -- after all -- the community of people. And thank God for a life-giving "snack" that reminds us we are cleansed in His righteousness forever!

Slumber Party
Thomas and I sat in the hallway outside the door to Parker's room listening to conversations such as these:
"Parker, I really DO love you. A lot. BUT, I do NOT want to hear from you AGAIN before tomorrow morning! Ok?"
"Ok, Sissy."
"Hey, Parker, do you want to play 'Simon Says?'"
*****
They did finally give it up around 9:30. Then, this morning was so sweet...Turner told us that Parker climbed up to her bunk and gave her a big hug and said, "I love you, Sissy!"
Priceless stuff! We are blessed!

Apples Don't Fall Far...
Two ways I absolutely KNOW -- without a doubt -- that Thomas Guerard is the Daddy of these two kids:
#1: Me: "Parker! Don't shine your flashlight in your sister's eyes!"
Parker: "But, Mommy, how 'bout her eyebrows? Can I shine it in her eyeBROWS?"

#2 Turner to me: "Most of the dinosaur fossils were found in Asia and Africa, right mom?"
Me (astounded): "How do you know that?" Turner: "PBS Kids."

Bunk Beds!
We put up Parker's awesome new bunk beds today! Uncle Clete did an amazing job making these, and our little guy was so SO SO excited. His reaction: "Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness!!! Look at my BUNK BEDS!"
The transition has been completely smooth, and Sissy is already begging to have a slumber party in Parker's room. He's pledged the top bunk to her!

Mini Me Pick Me Up
Needless to say, we have a very special place in our hearts for "Ms. Turner."
We found out this week that she was in town visiting and had some unexpected health problems come up. So, Turner and I decided to bring her some cheer! Turner painted this lovely lady bug picture.
On the way to deliver it, Turner said, "Mom, if Ms. Turner is sick, we probably shouldn't be visiting her. We don't want to catch it." To which I responded by trying to describe some of her ailments, which weren't contagious.
"Turner, Ms. Turner has something called a slipped disc in her back, which makes it hurt really bad."
"Ohhhhh....I get it, mom. So she has a slipped CD?"
Gotta love our techno savvy generation!!!

Parker gave Ms. Turner his own gift and sang "Jesus Loves Me" to her! So sweet!
