Last night, Turner woke up from a dead sleep crying loudly for me. I went into her room and asked her what was wrong. The following conversation ensued:
"I don't want to go to heaven, Mommy."
"What? (Trying to catch up with her...) Why not?"
"I want to stay with you and Daddy."
"Turner, honey, don't worry. You won't go to heaven for a long, long time. And we will all be together in heaven. "
(Still crying) "Will Jesus have a beard in heaven?"
"Not if you don't want him to, sweetie. "
"Will he shave it for me?"
"Yes. He will."
"Ok."
"Goodnight. I love you."
"Goodnight."

Easter Eggs

Today was a rainy, rainy, RAINY Saturday. Which made it the perfect day to stay in jammies and dye some Easter eggs! Turner loved everything about the process -- from boiling the eggs, to putting the little dye tabs in the vinegar cups, to sticking stickers on the eggs, to carefully dying them and arranging them in a glass container for our table. A great time was had by all!

Queen of the Castle
COW CAR!
Tough Chicks!
Cool Daddy! So, I'll bet your driveway doesn't look like this! :) Yes...we have the distinct privilege of having a COW CAR parked in ours! I had a little fender bender last week, and while our Honda is in the body shop, Chick-fil-A was kind enough to loan us a car. It just happens to have black spots all over it! Turner thinks it is awesome and doesn't want our car back EVER!

Three Months!
Parker passed the three month mark yesterday! He continues to grow and change weekly, and is coo-ing and talking up a storm these days. Also, as his Prevacid kicks in, he is much more smiley! Yeah! He's started rolling over from front to back, and he thinks his sister is a comedian. He wore his first camo this month, and much to his mother's chagrin, got his first tick (what an outdoorsman!). It's hard to believe that three months ago, he was in my tummy! We can't imagine a world without our Parker anymore. We've come a looong way, baby!

My L'il Angel
It is my biggest joy to ask Turner what she learned at school each day. This was her recap of Friday's lesson. Thanks again, Ms. Jean! We are so grateful for you and for her sweet teachers. What a difference you are making!

AHHHHH...
Praise Moment: Parker slept through the night last night for the first time! HOORAY! I heard him "talking" this morning and looked at the clock. It was 5:30! I went in his room, and he was lying there on his back smiling (I assumed he was as proud as I that he had made it all night!). We'll hope he shows off again soon!

Mother's Day!
Wouldn't it be great if EVERY day was Mother's Day? Well, in our family lately...IT IS! :) Turner started asking Thomas on Sunday if it could be Mother's Day. He made the mistake of saying "yes." The next day, he said "yes," too. (She was just too darn cute to resist!)For those who do no know about Mother's Day, it -- in essence -- translates into "breakfast in bed." Cool, huh?! Turner has read about Mother's Day in a few books and magazines, and all of them involve a fun breakfast on the sheets.
So, Fathers out there...too bad for you! It's Mother's Day around here!
(Disclaimer: Please don't be too critical of our healthy Captain Crunch breakfast and my shot of "Coke" caffeine!)

Officially Three and a Peachtree City Girl

I bet you didn't know that -- in order to be "officially" three, one MUST have cupcakes with and go for a golf cart ride with her TRIPLET BOY neighbors. Thomas and I waved goodbye today (the first of many) as our three year old rode off into the sunset with her three handsome buddies next door. (Thankfully, their sweet mom chaperoned and was a great driver!).
We are glad to report, too, that Turner has been indoctrinated into the anomaly that is Peachtree City by riding around town in a golf cart. She was very proud and said that "next time, mom, you can go."

A Spoon Full of Sugar...
The Letter "T"
Curious George Pancake Supper
Turner OriginalSo, we've been cooped up in the house all week (for those who know me, my biggest nightmare!). Turner has her usual winter "thing," complete with fever and nasty chest cough. I've vowed to stay inside and get her better, so we can enjoy her birthday.
Today, I pulled out all the stops: We did "math," worked on our numbers, cut pictures that started with the letter "T" out of magazines (warning: if your child ever picks "O" for this project, steer them in another direction!), painted, read, Leap frogged, baked, made home movies and even had a Curious George pancake supper (something I had planned to do on her birthday but had to pull out of the bag 'o tricks early in order to get some food in her).
I am officially out of creative ideas, so say a little prayer for me tonight...that tomorrow will be a healthy day!
Three's a Charm

On the eve of my firstborn's third birthday, it seems appropriate to reflect on our amazing journey.
Turner, you came into the world on a much-anticipated Saturday night and have been delighting us (and outwitting us!) ever since. You have blossomed over the past three years into this amazing little person.
Your language skills are incredible. You love life. You like to go, and most days start with, "Mom, where are we going today?" At tuck-in time, your favorite thing is for us to recap our adventures of the day --"Tell me about our long day," you always ask excitedly.
You are very sensitive to peoples' emotions, showing great concern for others. You love a "plan" (wonder where you got that?!), you love people, love to read, jump, play soccer, eat a good snack. You love your family, love to sing, love to do art projects and love your school and Bible lessons.
You had a big year this year: moving to Georgia, starting a new preschool, becoming a big sister...all of which you handled with extreme grace and adaptability. All this -- on top of the usual two-year old milestones, such as getting a big girl bed and learning to go potty.
When you decide to do something, you never look back. (YOU have to decide, though! You aren't going to let Daddy or me decide for you.) Perhaps a little independent? Yep. You know what they say about apples and trees, don't you?! You got a BIG DOSE from both sides.
Turner, we don't like you. We don't love you. We ADORE you. And we do not know what we'd do without you. You fill our hearts with joy and our lives with fun. Happy Birthday Eve, sweet little girl!

Winter Wonderland!

Turner's snowman, named "Colapetum"We had a fun surprise today! It snowed! A lot! The fun started with Daddy collecting some fresh snow for a snow "treat," complete with cherry flavored Pedialite (creative, huh?!). Turner loved it and even saved some to share with Mommy in the freezer.
Then, we went outside to make snow angels and a snowman, and we even had a snowball fight with our favorite Triplet Boy neighbors.
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
