Adios Preschool

Well, I knew this day was coming. And that didn't make it any easier! Today was Turner's LAST day of preschool...EVER!

She has had an amazing three years at PTCUMC, and we are very blessed that she is not only prepared for Kindergarten, but also that she's learned the love of Jesus on the laps of so many incredible teachers and women of faith. God truly provided for our family when we stumbled into town with no idea where to send our 2-1/2 year old...

I feel sad that time has flown so quickly, but Turner's enthusiasm about Kindergarten makes it impossible to be too sentimental. It is contagious, and I am truly excited to see what is in store in this next phase of her life. She is a special girl, and I am confident God has big plans for her!

Even though our trip to SC was a whirlwind, we did manage to fit in some sweet times. Parker and Thomas met Nana and Grandad for lunch on Saturday, and Turner got to hang out in Awendaw and swim, play and nap. The kids went fishing with mud minnows, and Parker got to ride on his coveted tractor!

We also let the kids sleep together, which was a riot. At 2:30am, I heard Turner whispering, "Parker! Parker! It is morning time! Wake UP!" I sprung from my bed in the other room and ran into the hallway, where they were hand in hand coming to wake us up. ARGHHH! Thankfully, everyone headed back to sleep pretty quickly...

Here Comes the Bride!

We had a great -- if not way too fast -- trip to SC this past weekend. It was our cousin Becky's wedding! She made such a beautiful bride, and it was truly a joy-filled occasion. It reminded me so much of Nicole's wedding, with all the Air Force hymns, swords and mess dresses.

Turner wore a beautiful dress and thought SHE was the bride. She and Mary got to sit right by the aisle on the second pew, which was a huge treat. Then, at the reception, she had a blast dancing with Daddy, taking photos on her disposable camera and hanging out with her sweet big cousin. She did ask me why she couldn't "see" the pictures she took with the camera, and I had to explain about the "old days," when cameras used film and pictures had to be developed...

Another neat thing, was the photo booth they had at the reception. There were a bunch of fun hats and accessories. You put those on and then went into the booth for your SILLY strip of photos. Everyone got to keep one strip and the bride and groom got a copy for a scrapbook! What a fun idea! I wish I could scan some of the images, because they were hilarious...but then again, maybe I don't want them online for posterity!

It was a wonderful Mother's Day! It started with my sweet daughter making me breakfast in bed. I got some lovely cards from everyone, we went to church, and then we took a picnic to Line Creek (a neat hike along a lake and creek nearby). It was just perfect! We ended the day by doing yard work and grilling out!

I could not be MORE blessed than to have the privilege to be Turner and Parker's mother! I am also very grateful for my mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and Mimi...as well as those faithful ladies who have already gone to be with our Heavenly Father! Thomas and I have had some truly amazing women in our lives!

The Farm

Last Wednesday, Turner had her kindergarten assessment at Peeples Elementary School. It was quite an adventure! You see, half way through the assessment, the tornado sirens went off. Peachtree City was having a tornado warning. Turner had to join the kindergartners and first graders in the hallway with her head down for about 25 minutes. I was in the same hallway, but not with her, and I was wondering how she would feel about it. Her reaction: "It was AWESOME, Mom!"

After that, we had a fun field trip to the farm with Turner's preschool class. She fed the goats, rode a pony, took a hay ride and chased a (poor)chicken!
