Walkin' Crooked

A while back, Turner and I had talked about the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I told her all about it and that when I was little, I had visited it.

Lots of weeks passed...

Then, the other day--out of the blue--Turner says, "Mom, can we go to that place where you walk crooked someday?"

It took me a while to figure out what she meant, but I finally did!

YES, Turner! We'll go one day, and I can hardly wait!

"Train" up a child...

I was so excited today when Turner brought the train box into the family room and my two munchkins played together for the first time. For almost an hour!!! WOW! Never thought a day like this might come. And lo and behold...

P.S. Turner allowed her bro-bro to be the conductor. As long as he did NOT touch her train! :)

Zoo!

We took a family trip to the zoo on Saturday! It was a perfect day -- weather-wise -- and the animals seemed glad to see us! :)

The highlight of the day was the carousel ride with my two pandas. It was Parker's first, and he literally did not want to let go when it was over. He loved it! Just like his big sis!

The kids were playing in the bathtub tonight (Parker's baby tub, at that!) and Turner kept faking like she was biting his toe. Every time, Parker would feign shock and terror with his mouth open, and then right after, he'd smile and laugh. It was so funny to see!

Oh, and chalk this entry up as one they will want to erase when they're old and grown! :)

And Then There Were FIVE!

We had a great visit with the Creech girls (and boy!) on Friday night! We had five kids, ages 5, 3, 2, 10 months and 6 months, under one roof! And they had a ball. It was a quick layover at Casa Guerard, but we had time to make Fall Leaf sugar cookies, decorate them and DEVOUR them!

We love you guys!

Despite being Sleeping Beauty on Halloween night, instead of Cinderella (her pick for school), Turner DID -- in fact -- turn into a pumpkin after the neighborhood party, rainy trick-or-treating and WAY too much sugar!!!

Her horse-brother helped give out candy and galloped to bed as soon as the doorbell stopped ringing!

We had a great Halloween this year! It all started with a carnival and party at preschool on Friday morning. Turner's teachers could hardly recognize her with her beautiful locks, jewels and Cinderella dress!

I was the party mom for Halloween -- along with another mother -- and I was in charge of the "healthy" snacks. So, we made an assembly line at the house on Thursday night and put together cheese pumpkins and witch broomsticks made of pretzel rods, string cheese and licorice (see above). It was fun! In addition to these, we had pumpkin sugar cookies that the kids got to decorate with icing and sprinkles. Yum!

My mom and I helped set up for the carnival and worked the "pin the nose on the jack-o-lantern" booth. It was so much fun to see the kids in their costumes and watch their excitement! We all took a long nap after school Friday -- it was exhausting! And yet, so fun!
