Recovering Toilet Brush Wielder!

Much to my dismay, Parker was proudly wielding the toilet brush the other morning . As soon as I noticed his latest plaything of choice, I quickly scolded him, saying "Parker, NO. We do not play with the toilet brush. It's yucky!"

Turner jumped right in and said, "Parker, listen to Mommy on that one...believe me...I used to do that. But, I gave up doing that... thank goodness."
I love you, my precious toilet brush man and my sweet "recovering" toilet brush wielding daughter!

Conway Cousins!

Two celebrities came to PTC today, and one of their biggest fans, Turner Guerard, was in hog heaven! Claire and Caroline rode down from Social Circle, where they were visiting their grandparents, today. What a treat to get to play, eat and swim with them! You can't tell from this picture, but Turner was beside herself, because they all wore polka dotted bathing suits! :)

Thanks, girls and Jenny, for making the trip down south! It was a wonderful day!

Make new friends, but keep the old...

Buds!

Last weekend, my friend of more than 20 years (ok, I am officially OLD to have a friend of TWO decades) came to visit with her three kids. Turner is right in the middle of her girls, and Parker is four months older than Tyler. The girls had spend-the-nights both nights in Turner's room and all played really nicely together. It was so neat that they picked up right where they left off when we moved from SC.

Thanks, Creech family, for braving I-20...and Emily, for a very special lifetime friendship that we are sharing with our children!

Turner and her buddies had a blast at soccer camp last week...and so did the little siblings (who had their very own mini soccer balls on the sidelines)! Even though she got a blister on her foot the very first day (boo!), she didn't want to miss out on all the fun Coach Craig created each morning.
Her favorite game was "What time is it, Mr. Wolf?"
I will say that I had better practice putting on shin guards, socks and shoes before soccer starts in the fall! It is quite a process and -- with blisters -- can be quite painful for both mother and child! :)

MOO-VING into a Family Tradition

Today was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A! It also happens to be the second anniversary of Thomas' job offer with Chick-fil-A, so it holds a special place in our hearts.

Anyway, we got together with some of our bovine buddies and made costumes and got free lunch! It was lots of fun!

Forever Friends

God has given us some amazing friends in our lives, and we have the privilege of spending time with them when we are in SC. Here are some photos of our recent visits with Abram and Alden and Madeline and Bryce!

We also were able to meet Owen and Tatum at the beach, but I forgot my camera.

Thank you for being such special little people. We love you guys!

Happy 4th!

Our Grandy -- all decked out as usual!

What a wonderful July 4th week we enjoyed in SC. It was so full of good times with Gammy and Pops, Nana and Grandad, Grandy, Aunt Niki and many great aunts, uncles and cousins!

I was reminded of how blessed we are to live in such a wonderful country, to be able to enjoy such a beautiful beach and to have such an amazing family, friends and extended family. Our cups runneth over!

We celebrated the 4th with lots of beach time, a parade on Ocean Blvd. (where Turner got more candy than Halloween!), a special beach fly over to remember the troops, fireworks, homemade ice cream, watermelon and sparklers! A good time was had by all!

Sunday Snafu...

So, I am willing to bet that those of you out there with boys have NEVER experienced this next little story before...

We were turning into the church parking lot the other Sunday. Both kids were so cute in the back seat in their church clothes and Turner's pretty bow. When all of a sudden, Turner said, "Mommy, you know...I don't have any panties on!"

Thomas looked at me with a look that said, "This is your domain, woman! Why doesn't our daughter have panties on????" :)

Anyway, after a 30 second pause during which I seriously considered whether or not I could get away with sending her to Sunday school sans underwear, we decided to turn around and retrieve the panties. I think God approved, because we -- miraculously -- made it back in time for the service to start!

New Tricks!

We had the opportunity to go to a really neat party two weeks ago at Bubby Cathy's house. His son, Mark, was a wonderful host, and we made a lot of fun memories.
Most exciting, was that Turner had a day FULL of firsts: She dove off this diving board (literally!), she went tubing behind a motorboat AND she went on her first jet ski ride with Thomas. It was all so exciting!
