So, "colic" and "awesome" aren't exactly similes. But today, and in our family, "colic" is awesome. We FINALLY got Parker to a GI specialist this morning. He had a full physical (and these guys check it all!). And, lo and behold, he does have reflux (the physician up-ed his meds for that), but mainly, he has that catch-all, vexing thing they call "colic."
"WHAT A BLESSING!" I exclaimed upon the diagnosis. He was somewhat puzzled with my relieved reaction, but I was overjoyed. This means that he'll grow out of it all and be "normal" by the end of the year! WOO HOO! Between this and his kidney/bladder news, Thomas and I are elated, because we are going to have a healthy little boy on our hands. (Now, keeping up with a healthy little boy is a different set of worries!). Anyway, the doctor was not concerned about anything -- said Parker was "really cute, even if he's a bit irritable." He's right on target with his build and his neurological/developmental milestones!
We've come such a long way, BABY!!!
