On the eve of my firstborn's third birthday, it seems appropriate to reflect on our amazing journey.
Turner, you came into the world on a much-anticipated Saturday night and have been delighting us (and outwitting us!) ever since. You have blossomed over the past three years into this amazing little person.
Your language skills are incredible. You love life. You like to go, and most days start with, "Mom, where are we going today?" At tuck-in time, your favorite thing is for us to recap our adventures of the day --"Tell me about our long day," you always ask excitedly.
You are very sensitive to peoples' emotions, showing great concern for others. You love a "plan" (wonder where you got that?!), you love people, love to read, jump, play soccer, eat a good snack. You love your family, love to sing, love to do art projects and love your school and Bible lessons.
You had a big year this year: moving to Georgia, starting a new preschool, becoming a big sister...all of which you handled with extreme grace and adaptability. All this -- on top of the usual two-year old milestones, such as getting a big girl bed and learning to go potty.
When you decide to do something, you never look back. (YOU have to decide, though! You aren't going to let Daddy or me decide for you.) Perhaps a little independent? Yep. You know what they say about apples and trees, don't you?! You got a BIG DOSE from both sides.
Turner, we don't like you. We don't love you. We ADORE you. And we do not know what we'd do without you. You fill our hearts with joy and our lives with fun. Happy Birthday Eve, sweet little girl!
